Story
Early bystander CPR saves lives! Approximately 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen every year in the UK. Sadly, less than one in 10 people survive these cardiac arrests. Performing CPR can more than double the chances of survival in some cases.
The Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Resuscitation Department is passionate about teaching staff & members of the public this life saving skill. To mark 'Restart a Heart Day' this year we are holding a 12 hour CPR-a-thon at Gloucester Royal Hospital where the Resuscitation Department and Hospital colleagues will be performing continuous chest compressions for 12 hours on a mannequin. Our aim is to raise awareness, teach CPR and build confidence so more people will feel confident to perform CPR if it is ever needed.
Every donation you choose to give helps your local hospitals do more to care for you, everyone you love and their passionate NHS staff. It helps to fund projects that make a positive change for as many as possible. From state-of-the-art equipment, transforming the hospital environment, supporting their incredible staff to specialist care; your support can help touch the lives of nearly every person in Gloucestershire.
Thank you! Your support can make a real difference.
