Landsdown Suite
The Lansdown Suite is a purpose built unit where Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy and Registrar Review clinics are held. This department is situated in the centre block on the ground floor.
The Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy clinics are run by a Consultant, Nurse Specialist or Registrars, usually aided by a registered Nurse and Nursing Auxiliary. Whereas the Registrar Review clinics are run by the on-call registrar, SHO’s and Nurse Practitioners.
Our aim is to provide the very highest standards of care to patients and relatives alike ensuring that dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
Occasionally we have Student Doctors and Nurses or Practice Nurses coming to observe clinics. All the patients will be told this on arrival, and their permission asked if students wish to observe.
What to Expect when you attend the Department
The Lansdown suite is a small department with limited space and so therefore we ask that relatives accompanying patients are kept to a minimum, as the waiting room can become very cramped and hot during busy times.
Please be aware that the Trust is now a smoke free NHS. Smoking is not permitted in any building or within the grounds of any of our sites. Information and support is available to any patients who wish to stop smoking. Nicotine Replacement Therapy is available to help reduce your cravings during your stay.
