Facilities

There is a playroom which is open from 8:45am - 6.00pm daily - Parents are reminded that they must supervise siblings that use the play room.

School hours are 9:30am - 11:30am and 1.00pm - 3.00pm. We have four schoolteachers, who cover the unit in term time. They identify children for school each morning and provide appropriate materials to your child either at the bedside or in the school room. Computer equipment is available.

There is a dedicated room for adolescents only which is equipped with TV, videos, computer games and board games

We have a selection of videos and computer games for the children who are patients, please return any that you use. Please do not bring in videos for over 18's.

All TV's should be turned off at 8.00 pm.

There is a tea / coffee vending machine. If parents wish to use a microwave we advise them to use the Ronald McDonald parent facilities.

We have a parent's recliner chair at each bed space and there are put down beds available. Due to Health and Safety regulations, unless there are exceptional circumstances, we can only allow one parent to stay at their child's bedside. If another adult wishes to stay we may have rooms available in the Ronald McDonald Suite.

The Ronald McDonald Suite comprises of 10 en-suite rooms, a communal kitchen for resident parents, sitting room and laundry facilities.
