The Contracts Office is a small corporate department providing the following services:
We ensure that the Trust's agreements to provide and purchase clinical services are reflected in contract documentation, making sure that the Trust's interests are protected.
Working with commissioners and other partners
We liaise with commissioners and other partners being the gateway for contract queries. We coordinate responses to service and quality performance monitoring and performance issues. This includes working with partners to explore issues in relation to service development or change.
We coordinate certain reports on the delivery of contract targets that deliver incentive payments; such as the Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) payments.
We are a member of the Trust Contracts Team that includes specialist information and finance staff. This team meets on a regular basis to analyse and review the general issues and technical detail in relation to contracts.
The Trust is not paid if it provides interventions and treatments not included within our contracts; unless prior authorisation is given.
Each commissioner has its own approach to 'Interventions Not Normally Funded'.
We help and advise clinicians and divisions through the documentation and the process to ensure there are no avoidable delays to patient treatment.
We provide advice to managers and clinicians on business development and the process of implementing service change. We help service teams bid for new work through competitive tender and have a good record of success.
As a part of the Clinical Strategy team we contribute to corporate planning and the future direction of the Trust through areas such as the development of the Trust's strategic framework.
