Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust works in partnership with Sovereign Housing Association to provide affordable and quality accommodation for all Key-workers (Trust, Fire, Ambulance, Police and Teaching Staff) situated within easy reach of both Hospitals. The accommodation at both Cheltenham and Gloucester is within a short distance from local shops, restaurants and parks; the Trust also offers flexibility by offering a free bus service (99) which operates between both hospital sites.

Facilities Provided

The accommodation is maintained to a high standard and let on a flexible basis so whether your need is short-term or long term there is accommodation to suit and it can be available from as little as one night  up to a year (family accommodation will be let subject to ongoing availability).

Tenants have their own room as part of a shared house or flat and share facilities such as bathrooms and kitchens. Kitchens are fully equipped with cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and basic cooking utensils as well as crockery and cutlery. Each room is fully furnished and bed linen is provided. We will make every effort to accommodate according to disability, religious, dietary or lifestyle requirements, subject to availability.

There are a number of self contained studio flats or 1, 2 & 3 bedroom flats for either families or those who do not wish to share. There is also a range of on-site and off-site accommodation.

Sovereign Housing Association have an office based in Gloucester at Robinswood House which covers both sites with staff based in various locations that are on-hand to assist with any queries. In addition there is an ongoing maintenance service that deals with Health, Safety and Fire Regulations; Pest Prevention, PAT Testing and various other services which ensure that the accommodation is safe and comfortable. A weekly housekeeping service is provided to the communal areas of shared accommodation; parking is also provided where available.

Who Can Apply?

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust welcomes applications from all staff and authorised visitors for residential accommodation in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

If you are visiting the GHNHSFT sites for a short period of time to attend a course, seminar or interview the Trust has facilities whereby the room can be let on a nightly basis.

Keys are only available for collection from both the Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital Emergency Department (A&E) Receptions after 4.30pm.
