This page provides information about the Immunology Clinic at the Edward Jenner Unit, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

What is immunology?

Immunology is the study and treatment of the body’s defence against infection and illness.

This clinic takes place each Wednesday.

The team consists of:

  • Consultant immunologist
  • Immunology specialist nurse

You may be seen by both the consultant and specialist nurse.

What to bring to clinic?

  • A list of all your medication. We need to know the names, strength and amount of medication you take each day
  • A sample of urine in a clean container. You can get a urine specimen pot from your GP’s surgery

You may also like to write down any questions you have and bring with you to your appointment.

If needed you may bring a relative or friend to the appointment.

At your appointment

When you attend the clinic, you may have a blood test. You might also have other investigations such as an X-ray.

The specialist nurse will be able to explain any treatment plans and provide any information needed.
