Deborah Lee receives an honorary award from the University of Gloucestershire

On Tuesday 23rd November, our Chief Executive, Deborah Lee received an Honorary Fellowship award from University of Gloucestershire in recognition of her career within the NHS, and her success in leading the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust through very challenging times, including the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Honorary Fellowship from University of Gloucestershire

The University confers honorary awards on individuals who have made an outstanding contribution in Gloucestershire, nationally. She received the award at the graduation ceremony at Cheltenham Racecourse.

Stephen Marston, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire, said:

“We’re also very proud to announce the names of such an outstanding group of individuals as recipients of honorary doctorates and fellowships. The awards recognise the valuable contributions that each one of the recipients has made to their respective fields and areas of expertise, and to our society as a whole.”

Deborah Lee, Cheif Executive said:

"I am truly honoured to be recognised in this way and to share the stage with the first UoG nursing graduates from 2020, many of whom came into practice early to support the NHS at the outset of the pandemic."
