Department of Immunology
Notes
- Total IgE measures the total amount of circulating IgE in human serum. It is not generally helpful in the diagnosis of allergy on its own.
- IgE levels can be raised in atopic eczema, allergic asthma, parasitic infections, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) and other conditions.
- Specific allergens will only be tested if clearly stated in the request.
