How state-of-the-art Lumify Ultrasound Technology is helping to Transform Patient Care
Thanks to your support, a new charity-funded portable ultrasound is helping to provide faster diagnosis and treatment for local patients.
This specialist technology utilises a hand-held tablet that connects to the Lumify ultrasound, providing quality imaging on a device that is extremely portable and ready to go when needed. It allows quicker diagnosis than more traditional, difficult to manoeuvre ultrasound equipment and helps staff identify problems quickly and efficiently. It is especially useful in emergency situations where ultrasound guided vascular access is needed on difficult access patients.
Julian Phelps, Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Vascular Access team, has already seen first-hand the difference this technology is making for staff and patients.
