National report on Maternity and Neonatal Services
The interim report from Baroness Amos's Independent Investigation into Maternity and Neonatal Services has been published.
The interim report from the Independent Investigation into Maternity and Neonatal Services makes for very difficult reading and reflects many of the challenges in maternity services across the country.
It also highlights the experience and lasting impact this has had on families, communities and staff.
Our focus must always be on creating the conditions for safe, compassionate and care for everyone that uses our services so that they can be confident whenever and wherever they need us.
A number of the issues described are recognised locally and continue to be a key focus of our improvement work, and although we continue to make progress there is further to go.
We look forward to the national recommendations that will follow when this national investigation is complete.
If you are currently pregnant or have concerns about your care, please contact your community midwife.
Our Patient Advice and Liaison Service and the independent Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership are also available to support you.
