Lilleybrook ward cares for patients being treated for cancer. We are located in the Oncology Centre at the rear of the hospital.
What to expect when you are admitted to our ward
On arrival on the ward you will be shown to your bed. Sometimes you may have to wait in the day room until your bed is ready, however we shall keep you updated.
You will be seen by a nurse who will admit you and by a doctor who will take your medical details. Often a blood sample will be taken as well.
We will keep you informed about and involved in your care during your stay with us.
Lilleybrook is a modern ward with good facilities and has a garden next to the ward.
The staff are keen to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible and will be only too happy to answer any questions that you might have.
Please be aware that smoking is not permitted in any building or within the grounds of any of our sites. Information and support is available to any patients who wish to stop smoking.
Visiting times are: 3pm – 4.30pm and 6pm – 8pm
Two visitors per bed at any one time please. This is necessary not only because the patient will be overtired by more, but space is limited and overcrowding poses a health and safety hazard. We also limit the amount of flowers due to lack of space, infection risk and health and safety.
We have a quiet time between 1pm and 3pm so that patients may rest.
You and your family will be informed of the best time to telephone for news.
Telephone numbers: 0300 422 4010 and 0300 422 4110
Or Telephone Switchboard on 0300 422 2222 and ask for Lilleybrook Ward.
We ask that one person be nominated to ring for news and then relays the information to other friends and family.
You can bring your own phone with you.
Free Wifi is available on all our wards. If you have any difficulty accessing this, please speak to a member of ward staff.
