“Sounds of the Soul” Playlist Launched to Support Muslim Dementia Patients
It's Dementia Action Week and we're proud to announce a collaboration with Gloucestershire charity Mindsong to launch “Sounds of the Soul,” a music playlist designed to support the wellbeing of Muslim patients living with dementia.
The playlist features a thoughtful selection of calming and traditional songs that reflect the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Muslim community.
These carefully chosen pieces aim to spark memories, soothe anxiety, and provide a sense of connection and identity for those living with dementia, whether in the community or the hospital.
We developed this playlist with Mindsong and input from local families, carers, and healthcare professionals. This initiative shines a light on the importance of culturally sensitive care and the role of music in enhancing the quality of life for people with dementia.
“This project is a powerful reminder of how meaningful music can be not just as therapy, but as a bridge to the past, to loved ones, and to one’s sense of self. We’re proud to work with Mindsong and the local Muslim community to ensure patients feel seen, heard, and valued.”

This initiative is part of broader efforts to provide personalised care to people living with dementia, recognising the unique cultural and spiritual needs of each individual.
As an organisation, we are also proud to support Dementia Action Week with this year’s national focus on promoting timely and accurate dementia diagnoses and you can read more about this here.
