Temporary change to entrance at Cheltenham General Hospital Emergency Department – 10 March

9 Mar 2026, 3 p.m.

The main public entrance to the Emergency Department at Cheltenham General Hospital will be temporarily unavailable on Wednesday 10 March while essential repair work is carried out.

The Emergency Department will remain fully open during this time.

We are currently experiencing ongoing issues with the entrance doors, and contractors will be on site to install a replacement motor. The area will be cordoned off from 7:30am, with work starting from 8am. The entrance will remain unavailable for the duration of the repairs.

Access to the Emergency Department during the works

  • Ambulances will continue to use their usual dedicated entrance and will not be affected.
  • Patients and visitors arriving on foot will be asked to use the St Paul’s or St Luke’s entrances, depending on their destination.
  • Clear signage will be in place throughout the day to help guide patients, visitors and staff.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank patients, visitors and colleagues for their understanding while these essential repairs are completed.
