Temporary road closure on Claremont Road – 6 January to 14 August
Construction works for the Electrical Infrastructure Phase 2 project will begin at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, from 6 January 2026 and continue until 14 August 2026.
To enable these essential works, a section of Claremont Road will be closed to traffic from just past the Orchard car park to the T-junction. This means:
- No through traffic from Great Western Road to Claremont Road.
- Access to Claremont Road will be via London Road only.
Pedestrian access will remain unaffected, with routes from Great Western Road through to Claremont Road open throughout the works.
Access to staff car parks, Orchard car park, and the Apelonea building will be maintained at all times. Oxygen deliveries will also continue without disruption.
Signage will be updated on Great Western Road and at key points to reflect the changes, ensuring compliance with traffic safety regulations and pedestrian protection.
