Maggie’s centres complement medical care by addressing the emotional, practical and social impact of cancer, helping people feel more informed, supported and able to cope throughout their journey.
Maggie's Cheltenham offers support that complements NHS treatment and focuses on helping people cope practically, emotionally and socially. It is located just around the corner from our Oncology Centre at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Core services
- Emotional and psychological support
One-to-one and group support from cancer support specialists and psychologists, helping people manage anxiety and the impact of diagnosis - Practical advice and financial support
Guidance on benefits, money worries, work issues and the financial impact of cancer - Information and guidance
Clear, expert information about cancer, treatment and side effects - Support for family and carers
Help for those supporting someone with cancer, including emotional support and advice on coping - Group support and community connection
Drop-in spaces and group sessions to reduce isolation and connect with others - Wellbeing activities and courses
Activities such as yoga, relaxation, nutrition advice and exercise to support overall wellbeing
How the service works
- Free and open access with no referral needed
- Available in centres alongside NHS hospitals and online
- Designed as welcoming, non-clinical spaces where people can drop in, talk or take time out
