• JC virus is detected by PCR.
• Associated with Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML).
• Tested following specific request.
• If possible, send both CSF and EDTA blood samples.

Sample requirements

CSF - 30 mL sterile universal container

A minimum CSF volume of 150 µl is required for reliable testing.

4ml of blood taken into an EDTA Tube

Urine,

Serum,

Tissue can also be tested.
