- MBL deficiency plays a role in the predisposition to infection in individuals with other defects of immunity.
- Testing is rarely indicated. May be useful in recurrent infections in childhood or during chemotherapy.
- Test performed at PRU, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.

Clotted blood. (No patient preparation or special handling required)
