Two thirds of COVID-19 patients who received intensive care at Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals have been discharged.
Designated teams of midwives will care for women at all stages throughout their pregnancy, birth and in the early days following birth in a Continuity of Carer scheme being launched in Gloucestershire at the end of April.

The NHS in the South West is today (5 September) celebrating the remarkable achievements of staff and teams who have won regional categories in the 2024 Parliamentary Awards, after being nominated by their local MPs. This includes a team from Gloucestershire who have won the Excellence in Urgent and Emergency Care Award.
After graduating from Birmingham University and completing his Foundation years, Dr Iain Smith moved to the Severn region for core medical training.
Mr Dell'Aversana has extensive experience in cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. He performs a large number of procedures every year and he is involved in the training of perspective general and vitreoretinal consultants. Mr Dell'Aversana qualified in medicine and surgery in Italy and undertook further subspecialty training in the UK.
