Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer

Megan Willsher is our Nurse Specialist for Teenagers and Young Adults with Cancer

She explains: "I support patients between the ages of 16 -25 years of age who have been given a cancer diagnosis.

"A life-threatening diagnosis at this stage of life can be devasting, turning their world and their family’s upside down. Having the right professional to care and support them throughout their treatment and beyond is paramount.

"By supporting patients this allows them to move forward with their life and get back to their plans for the future, allowing them the life they had planned before the intrusion of cancer."

Megan has been the Cobalt TYA Cancer Nurse since June 2011 and is based at Cheltenham General Hospital. She collaborates with colleagues across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Bristol and Birmingham and is one of only five TYA Cancer Specialist Nurses in the South West. Read more on the Cobalt website
