Core services

Emotional and psychological support

  • Linc Counselling Service: Free, confidential counselling for blood cancer patients, partners, adult children, parents, and primary caregivers. Sessions provide a safe, non-judgmental space away from the clinical environment and take place in person at Patch in central Gloucester or online via Zoom.
  • NHS Clinical Psychology: Linc funds a dedicated Clinical Psychologist working directly within the NHS Trust to support Haematology inpatients and outpatients at both Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.  Find out more here: Linc Psychology Service

Peer and group support

  • Patient Support Groups: Regular, welcoming support groups providing patients and families a space to connect, share experiences, and reduce isolation throughout their cancer journey.

Practical advice and financial support

  • The Linc Fund: A specially reserved fund offering quick-to-access, bespoke financial assistance for blood cancer patients and their families. This includes help with mortgage and rent payments, childcare costs, alternative pain management, or funding family days out.

Restorative spaces

  • Linc Sanctuary Garden: Located right next to Cheltenham General Hospital, this outdoor garden maintained by a group of Linc volunteers offers a peaceful retreat for patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Clinical trials and research

  • Clinical Trials Team: Linc funds a clinical trial nurse who work with the haematology team to offer patients access to innovative treatments and cutting-edge research studies.

How our service works

Free & open access: All services are completely free of charge thanks to donor support.

Self-referral available: Patients and family members can self-refer directly for counselling and financial support via the Linc website without requiring a GP or clinical referral.
