Maternity Essentials: information on video
Our new Maternity Essentials videos have been created by our midwives to support women and families with some of the topics we’re most often asked about.
Pregnancy can bring lots of questions and sometimes it helps to hear information explained more than once.
We know that for many people, it can be easier to listen and watch when you are very busy, rather than stopping to read through written information.
The videos are based on our patient information leaflets (which you can access in BadgerNotes or on our website) and present key information and important guidance that you can rewatch whenever you need it.
It’s really important information for you and your baby, shared by the midwives who care for families every day.
The first videos in the series are:
- Birth Options
- Screening in Pregnancy
- Fetal Monitoring During Labour
- Infant Feeding
You can access these individually or via our Playlist link.
We will be adding to our playlist in the coming months - if there is anything particular that you would like to see, please get in touch.
Accessible for everyone
Because the videos are hosted on YouTube, they can also be translated into the language you are most comfortable with using YouTube’s built-in translation tools.
To do this, open the video and click the Settings (⚙️) icon in the bottom corner of the player. From there you can:
- Turn on Subtitles/Closed Captions
- Select Auto-translate
- Choose your preferred language from the list
YouTube will then automatically translate the subtitles so you can follow the information in your chosen language.
This can help make the guidance shared by our midwives easier to access for women and families who speak different languages.
