- Skeletal muscle antibodies can be seen in patients with myasthenia gravis, particularly in those with thymoma. They may predict an unsatisfactory outcome after thymectomy and if negative can exclude thymoma.
- Performed in conjunction with Cardiac muscle antibodies.
- Test performed at Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.
Sample Requirements
Clotted blood. (No patient preparation or special handling required)
