Cirencester Treatment Centre at Cirencester Hospital cares for day case surgical patients.
You should plan on a minimum of 1 day off work after the day of your surgery. You may need a day or two extra depending on the type of job.

In the case of sharps/exposure incidents, same day testing of the source patient's blood is available. Please telephone the laboratory.
Unit the next day.
Every day, we provide urgent treatment for more than 300 patients at our Emergency Departments at Gloucester and Cheltenham and this continues every day
the Medical Day Unit.
If it is more than 1 day late, then we would advise you to miss that dose and give the next on the usual day.
The maximum daily dose is 120mg - this will be divided in to 2 doses (60mg twice a day). Duloxetine should be taken at the same time every day.
Microbiology Notes White cell counts are performed on all ascitic fluids with the exception of samples from Medical Day Unit (MDU), where a count will
determine immunity status after Hepatitis B vaccination, please request hepatitis B surface antibodies In the case of sharps/exposure incidents, same day

The Chedworth Surgical Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital cares for day case and elective surgical admission patients.
Hospital transport is not readily available and if appropriate we try to discharge patients on the same day.
We also trialled using once daily intravenous antibiotics, to allow day case treatment when appropriate.
You will be admitted to a surgical ward or the Day Surgery Unit on the day of your angiogram.
Turnaround time Microscopy results available on day of receipt A preliminary report is issued after 2 - 4 days.
On the day of your operation
Your throat may then feel a little sore, which could last for the rest of the day. You will be allowed to drink and eat after the procedure.
