If the area is painful, take your usual pain relief.

Heat also soothes or relieves pain and spasm leading to less stiffness.
You may have very few symptoms but these could include: Chest pain which is sudden, sharp and stabbing. Pain can be worse when you breathe in.
Simple pain relief such as paracetamol can help.
You will have some abdominal pain and discomfort after the operation.
You may notice a flare-up in the joint, with increased pain for the first 24 hours after an injection.
