In cases where the condition may resolve itself, your doctor will arrange appointments to observe the skin every 3 to 12 months.

Spacers should be replaced every 12 months but some may need changing at six months. The spacer should be compatible with the MDI being used.
The scar and skin graft will look different from the rest of your arm and it can take 6 to 12 months for the scar to fade.
