What to do if you are having problems
If this becomes heavy, has a bad smell or if you are concerned, please contact your GP.
If you wear dentures, remove them at night and always keep them clean. Visit your dentist every 6 months, if you have your own teeth.
If you are in contact with babies, avoid changing nappies for up to 2 weeks.
However, new medication should be stopped if there is no clear benefit or if there are significant side effects.
This will enable you to contact them if you have any concerns or if you no longer wish to use this service.
What shall I do if I have a question?
The nurse will also ask if you have any allergies or if you have had any reactions to medicines or foods.

If the clot in the leg breaks off and travels to the lungs, it will cause pulmonary embolus (PE).

What if I am poorly on the day of my appointment?
If you are on the pill, continue to take as normal.
If the reliever is needed more frequently, give the dose then you must seek medical advice. Contact your GP or NHS 111 if your GP’s surgery is closed.
If not treated quickly, it can sometimes lead to blindness or stroke.
