Background & Problem

  • To take a baseline measurement of the Trust’s Leadership commitment to Staff Health & Wellbeing.
  • To make improvements through the provision of SH&WB initiatives based on this standard.
  • Contribute to Charter accreditation.

This work was completed in HR through provision of a portfolio of evidence. The OD team provided leadership information and related statistics. The Comms team provided website analytics and assisted with the development and promotion of the new webpage. The information on the new web page aims to encourage staff to become healthier, reduce sickness absence and improve related staff survey responses.

Aim

Provision of all Staff Health & Wellbeing information in one place (on the intranet) as well as ensuring those staff who do not access a PC on a daily basis have access to this information by other means.

Method

Comparison of activity between similar intranet web pages and the new web page. External Consultant assessment of Leadership portfolio.

Results

All Staff Health & Wellbeing information is in one place. There is also a dedicated notice board for staff on each site.

Implications

Completion of the remaining 7 standards will enable Charter accreditation which will increase the reputation of the Trust as a health provider and employer. Accreditation evidence will give a baseline to build upon when meeting related CQUIN targets. Contributes to the Trust’s Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) OD and Workforce Strategy.
