How do I know if I have enough iron?
You will be told if this applies to you.

If you need any help or if your labour is not progressing as it should, your midwife will arrange for you to be transferred to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital
We also need to know if you have an acute general inflammation or infection and if you have any severe liver or kidney disease.
If this is not possible, please let the nursing staff know as they may wish to arrange for a district nurse to visit if necessary.

If you need to stay overnight
If you suspect that you have an infection, contact your GP who will consider if you need antibiotic treatment. Q.
If so, you will need to have irradiated blood. White Blood Cells make up the immune system. If these are low, the body is more prone to infections.
