The splint should be worn for 3 weeks and should only be taken off for washing.

You will be given an appointment date to have the tube changed. This will be as an outpatient.
A small cut will be made at the front of your neck. The affected half of the thyroid gland will be removed and the cut will be closed.
These attacks may be unpleasant, but are not harmful.
Wheelchairs will be provided where indicated on Map 1 for those unable to walk. This will be managed by our portering team.
This will be for a dental and general oral check-up. An appointment will be sent to you in the post.
You will be admitted to hospital, usually on the day of your operation. You should expect to be in hospital for about 1 to 2 days.
This will not be painful.
You may be asked to return to the unit for review by a doctor.
You will be taken to the procedure room and will be asked to lie on a trolley.
First your wrist or groin area will be cleaned with an antiseptic solution and you will be covered with a sterile drape.
You will then be asked to sit at the laser machine and anaesthetic drops will be put in the eye(s) to be treated.
There will also be Play Specialists around for any support that may be required.
Exceptions may be made for babies and renal patients. In other patients small samples will not be processed.
Your treatment may need to be interrupted to allow for dental treatment to be done.
You may be given a follow-up appointment to be seen at the hospital or you may be asked to make an appointment to see your GP.
