The EKU nursing team There are a number of nurses working on the EKU, who you will get to know well.
Let your doctor and pre-operation assessment nurse know about all the medication you take and follow their advice.
If you feel sick, let the nurses know as medication can be given to relieve this. You may be aware of the monitoring equipment.
Speak to the ward staff and let them know that you support/care for the person.
If it is too painful for you, let your healthcare professional know, as the procedure can be stopped at any time.
If you would prefer not to have students present during your treatment, please let a member of staff know.
If this is not possible, please let us know as soon as you receive your appointment letter so that we can make alternative arrangements for your admission
Please let the dermatologist know if you are taking oral steroids as they may allow you to continue taking them during the tests.
If you are allergic to penicillin, please let your gynaecologist know and you will be given an alternative medication.
Useful methods to consider are: Regular toileting Get to know the person’s toileting habits, you may find it helpful to keep a diary.

How will I know if my fistula is working?
We do not know the exact cause of this pain but some studies have shown links to other chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia or irritable bowel
