There are 2 types of respiratory muscle tests; mouth pressure and sniff (SNIP) pressure tests.
Turnaround times Samples are sent for analysis to King's College Hospital, London with a result expected within 2 weeks.
The injury will usually heal within 4 weeks, with return of normal function by around 6-8 weeks.
Some patients will receive a follow up phone call from a trained volunteer or key worker, 2 weeks after leaving hospital.
Aim is to keep all glucose levels 4 to 7 or 5 to 8 mmol/L. Test your glucose levels 2 hourly during a fast.
