You will be taken to the procedure room and will be asked to lie on a trolley.
Will the test be uncomfortable?
You will be given a general anaesthetic so that you will be asleep throughout the procedure.
Once they are comfortable, they will be allowed home.
This will be for a dental and general oral check-up. An appointment will be sent to you in the post.
Will I also be seen by a dermatologist?
Please do not be embarrassed. Any saliva in your mouth will be removed using a small suction tube.
The patient must be happy for their carer to be with them during these meetings.
This is to allow time for transport and for the necessary tests to be processed.
Your appointments with the Bartongate Team will be at Bartongate Children’s Centre or Bartongate Surgery.
It may be difficult to clean your teeth around the stitches because it will be sore.
Endoscopic removal can be used when the polyp cannot be reached by the TEMs or when the risk may be lower using this method.
