The Acute Care Response Team (ACRT) is made up of both advanced and enhanced practitioners with additional training.

About the team
This service is a trust-wide, cross-site team of practitioners and technicians who work alongside ward doctors and nurses caring for patients who are at risk of deterioration or who have become more unwell.
What do they do?
- Complete thorough assessments and examinations to ensure timely patient management
- Work with speciality and critical care teams to ensure rapid senior review, treatment initiation and escalation of care if necessary
- Review patients who have been discharged from the critical care unit
- Respond to resuscitation and emergency calls
- Support with training and education covering a range of topics

Technician service
Our technicians support with expert cannulation, taking blood and blood cultures, if previous attempts by ward teams have been unsuccessful.
Priority will be given to unwell patients and those that have missed doses of medication due to lack of access.
This service is currently only based at GRH – Bleep 2720.
