We support relatives and carers with the legal and emotional practicalities surrounding the death certification process.
This involves liaising with the clinical teams who provided care for the deceased and ensuring that an independent review of the circumstances is carried out by a senior doctor known as a Medical Examiner. We act as the single point of access for the coroner’s office and the registration service. Our service also encourages and enables bereaved people to provide feedback on the care their loved one has received during their final journey through our hospital.
Opening hours
Our bereavement offices are open to the public between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
